Axa, Home & Legacy and Swiss Re discussed how close the insurance sector is to a reality of end-to-end digital claims management

It might have taken longer to impact the back end than the front, but digitalisation is starting to play a larger role in how insurers handle claims.
Not least in how policyholders report a first notification of loss and then track a claim to reconciliation; and how insurers manage the process from beginning to end with less touch points and greater use of automation starting with the capture of data at the outset.
Insurance Post and Alfresco hosted an interactive live webinar where an expert panel debated what progress is being made and how close the sector is to a reality of end-to-end digital claims management.
Topics covered were:
- What technologies are available to help insurers digitalise their claims processes?
- Why is it important to get the FNOL right to set the tone for a policyholder’s claims experience?
- How are insurers adapting to a world where customers are increasingly expected to provide photos or videos of claims at FNOL?
- How can insurers improve and better integrate the flow of data and information between themselves, policyholders and third parties?
- How can real time data help claims professionals to combat fraud and speed up processing for legitimate claimants?
- What factors impact the adoption of digital within the claims space?
Joining us for the discussion were:
- Dave Giordano, chief strategy officer, Alfresco
- Andy Reid, head of claims, Home and Legacy
- Nick Smith, claims transformation director, Axa
- Jen Vollmer, senior business operations manager, Swiss Re
