Insurance Post’s star-studded Christmas Special for 2025
The award-winning Insurance Post Podcast has signed off the year with a Christmas Special featuring industry heavyweights, newsroom favourites and even a CBeebies-style bedtime story.
Editor Emma Ann Hughes takes the role of quiz master, challenging the news knowledge of Jonathan Swift, content director; Hugh Kennaway, president of the Chartered Institute of Loss Adjusters; deputy editor Scott McGee; and Scott Clayton, head of fraud at Zurich.
Viewers are tested on some of the more colourful moments of the last 12 months, including:
- Which industry leader was mistaken for a Marvel superhero?
- What climate activists from Insure Our Survival dubbed their rival ceremony to the British Insurance Awards?
- Where the economics graduate who spent 10 hours outside Lloyd’s with a sign advertising himself for hire eventually landed a job?
The Christmas Special also counts down Post’s Top 10 most-read news stories of 2025, reflecting another year dominated by consolidation, leadership shake-ups and market-shaping misconduct.
Closing out the episode is a festive treat: a bedtime story for Christmas titled How the Grinch Stole Coverage, read in true CBeebies fashion by a fabulous line-up of prominent industry figures:
- Ajay Mistry, co-founder of iCan.
- Julie Comer, head of compliance of the British Insurance Brokers’ Association.
- Mike Crane, SME and specialty director of Axa.
- Jonathan Clark, past Chartered Insurance Institute president and trustee of the National Emergencies Trust.
- Kishan Mangat, co-chair of iCan.
- Hugh Savill, senior adviser at Sicsic Advisory.
- Chris Finnegan, brand director of Insurance Post.
- Huw Evans, head of insurance at KPMG.
- Carmen Powell, CEO of ISC Group.
- Melissa Collett, CEO of Insurtech UK.
- Malcolm Tarling, former chief media relations officer of the Association of British Insurers.
- Matthew Connell, director of policy and public affairs at the CII.
- James Daley, managing director of Fairer Finance.
The Christmas Special caps off an eventful year for the sector and for Post’s award-winning newsroom.
With a mix of humour, insight and end-of-year reflection as the industry heads into 2026, this is one Christmas Special not to be missed.
