Rightindem appoints Amanda Blanc as chair

Amanda Blanc

Amanda Blanc has joined digital claims provider Rightindem as non-executive chair of the board of directors.

Rob Wirszycz, who has served as chair since the company was formed, moves to become vice-chairman on the board with responsibility for investor relations.

The business was part of technology incubator Start-up Bootcamp’s 2016 programme. Investors include Symvan Capital and Eos Venture Partners.

It was designed to enable customers to control their insurance claims through an artificial intelligence-driven, self-service software claims ecosystem.

According to the firm it already manages thousands of claims across motor, home and marine.

It is the sixth recent appointment for former Zurich Europe, Middle East and Africa CEO and Axa UK and Ireland CEO Blanc who left Zurich last July.

Her first new non-executive position was with Aviva, shortly followed by ERS. After these came insurtechs Trov and Laka interspersed with becoming independent chair of Welsh rugby’s Professional Rugby Board.

Blanc said that the main attraction of working with Rightindem was the potential to crack the perennial problem of disjointed claims service experiences.

“I have had the privilege of meeting many great insurtechs and startups as I pulled together my portfolio over the last few months,” she commented.

“In Rightindem I found a really special team with an elegant software solution that can be easily adopted by insurance claims providers.”

CEO Oliver McGuinness described Blanc’s credentials and experience as second to none adding: “I am confident she will help us become the digital claims solution of choice for the industry.”
