How to develop your data skills

How to make sure you can understand and make the most of data in insurance is the topic of the latest Insurance Post Top Tips video featuring Carolyn Blunt, former vice president of Davies Academy.

Blunt recommends:

  • Know how data shapes your role.
  • Spot the possibilities in data.
  • Develop your data storytelling ability.

Insurers don’t have to be a mastermind with a spreadsheet to keep their role in the industry with Blunt saying: “Lots of people don’t have in-depth training on Excel. They pick up the basics perhaps and they might be a bit fearful of it.

“The UK government is actually providing up to £4,000 worth of funding for UK PLC staff to access.”

Over the coming weeks Top Tips videos will feature the industry’s leading lights sharing simple but effective ideas that could take your insurance business and career to the next level.
