Over 300 insurance brokers get minded to authorise letters
The Financial Services Authority has reported that by the end of 30 April, it had received 15046 registrations to obtain an application pack and 5580 applications for authorisation — with 8675 registrations related to insurance business and 6371 to mortgages, while for applications for authorisation the breakdown was 3684 from mortgage firms and 1896 from general insurance firms.
By the end of 30 April, 1135 letters had been sent to applicant firms indicating that the FSA was minded to authorise them to carry out mortgage or general insurance business.
