How to build your personal brand on LinkedIn

In the first of a new weekly series of Insurance Post Top Tips videos, Samantha Lydon (Ridgewell), founder of Empower Development, explains how to stand out from the crowd on social media.

In her Insurance Post Top Tips video, Lydon – whose surname was Ridgewell when the clip was recorded just ahead of her wedding – recommends insurers wishing to make the most out of LinkedIn:

  • Increase familiarity.
  • Vary content.
  • And achieve inwards and outwards engagement on LinkedIn.

Lydon, whose Insurance TikTok channel hit a milestone earlier this year by achieving 400,000 ‘likes’, said: “It is important to engage with other people’s content as well as adding your own.

“Look out for opportunities to like somebody’s post. If you’re scrolling through and you like what you read, hit like, add a comment, congratulate them or share their post.

“It is a great way to show you are supporting other people as well as promoting your own content.”

Over the coming weeks Insurance Post’s Top Tips videos will feature the industry’s leading lights sharing simple but effective ideas that could take your insurance business and career to the next level.

If you liked today’s video then please follow Lydon’s excellent advice and use the social media buttons above to share it on LinkedIn, Facebook, or X.
