Rob Townend

Global claims strategy and innovation director at Aviva Rob Townend has worked for the insurer since 1996 and is currently responsible for Aviva's global claims strategy and innovation.

During his time at Aviva Townend has run the UK & Ireland claims team and has held various claims operational and commercial roles including commercial & supply chain director; property & creditor claims director, motor & liability director and technical claims director.

Townend also spent two and a half years in Canada as VP, procurement between 2005 and 2007.

He is a member of the GI Reserve & Investments Committees and chairman of Solus Automotive (Aviva's in house repair business).

Townend has been the FCA approved person for claims and executive sponsor for the implementation of Guidewire across Aviva.
