Clemitson started work at Eridge in February 2016 as one of the founding shareholders and directors.

In this role, Clemitson takes overall responsibility for the claims and compliance function; and under his leadership, the company has gone through the process of becoming directly authorised by the FCA.

Clemitson is an FCA approved person.

Between July 2001 and early 2016, Clemitson was employed by Service Underwriting Agency - with his final role at the firm being head of claims and compliance - a position he took up in September 2006. In this role Clemitson had responsibility for the overall results and management of the claims function, an area employing more than 60 people; and had a caseload of claims with a value of more than £500,000. During this time he sat as a member of the technical committee of the MIB, and still handles large loss matters on behalf of Service.

He also took Service through the process of becoming an FCA authorised firm and had responsibility for the compliance function.

From July 1998 to July 2001 Clemitson was a european claims manager for Hertz Europe and had responsibility for overseeing claims departments in France, Netherlands, Belgium and the UK.

From 1992 to 1998 he was employed by St Paul International in various claims roles, finally ending up as personal lines claims manager.Being a founding director and shareholder of Eridge Underwriting, a new MGA that deals with motor insurance only.

Clemitson states that his biggest achievement in 2016 was being one of the founding directors and shareholders of Eridge Underwriting, a new MGA that deals with motor insurance only.
