Each year Post works in association with ratings agency AM Best to put together a list of the UK’s top 100 UK insurers.

The 2018 financial year includes year ends between 1 July 2018 and 30 June 2019. n/a: Data not available. Vitality Health ranking is based upon 2017 premium.

(1) Net written premiums to gross written premiums.

(2) Pool Reinsurance Company Limited is outside the scope of Solvency II. Premium data are taken from its report and accounts.

(3) Due to ring fenced fund restrictions, Exeter Friendly Society Limited’s eligible own funds are limited to the SCR and, therefore, the SCR ratio is 100% for both years.
