UK becomes EU capital of private equity-backed insurance M&A
The UK has seen 28 private equity deals in insurance over the past 18 months, half of the total number in Europe.
The numbers, from Unquote Data, come after the biggest deal of the year - with private equity house Bain Capital proposing a £1.17bn buyout of insurer Esure.
