TDI Academy adds two scholarships to its Women in Tech community initiative

TDI Academy has launched a fully paid scholarship on two of its courses, through its Women In Tech community, to help those who have fewer opportunities for accessing education on insurance.

Women In Tech, which is a free technology community for women, is built on TDI’s global knowledge base dedicated to digital insurance. The community is aimed at attracting more women to start a career in technology in insurance, supporting career development and the progression of female leaders and entrepreneurs with knowledge and networks.

The digital insurer is hoping to build up a network of female thought leaders, and to be able to inspire more women to rise to the top of the insurance profession.

The scholarships will be available for the CDI Programme, from which students can obtain a virtual certification in digital insurance, and the ADI programme, a seven-month advanced learning programme in digital insurance with virtual live learning sessions. They are open to all women globally who have limited access to learning and development around digital insurance.

Applicants have until the end of November 2022 to apply via the TDI website, with scholarships announced in December 2022. A judging panel from TDI Academy will score each application, with the highest overall scores winning scholarships.

Theresa Blissing, head of TDI Connect, the division overseeing Women in Tech said: “The Women in Tech community was created to provide access to insights, knowledge and education, with the goal of achieving gender equality in the insurance industry by 2030.

“The scholarship scheme will focus on women who have limited financial resources, and those who have limited support through their company.”

Malini Nagaria, head of TDI Academy, added: “The scholarship scheme is a great initiative to support the development of women in the Insurance Industry. According to the United Nations, in 2019, women only held 28% of managerial positions worldwide. These are our first steps to improve on that in our industry.

“This is not just about the individual, we want employers to get involved in our mission and actively support the development of their female leaders.”
