24 December: The final stretch

24-dec

The hard work has been done.

The presents have been bought, wrapped and opened. The dinner cooked, the only ritual left to complete on Christmas day before the obligatory afternoon snooze in front of the depressing Eastenders special, is the serving and eating of the traditional turkey dinner.

The easy part, right? Well not for everyone.

Mrs Policyholder had made it to the table with the brussel sprouts and the roast potatoes, but the hungry Christmas guests would have to make do with that. For on her way into the dining room from the kitchen, Mrs Policyholder tripped on the carpet grippers and sent the remainder of the lunch spilling across the carpet.

Not only was dinner ruined, the carpet was too, resulting in a claim n excess of £200.
