Smartphone telematics data can be of an equal quality to black box data so long as companies are aware which data is not good enough to be used, according to telematics provider Wunelli.
Research from Wunelli, involving data from 500 drivers who drove a minimum of 186 miles each, found usage-based insurance driving scores collected through smartphone apps can vary by up to 47% if data
