Unable to wait patiently in the kitchen for his owner to finish baking his favourite sweet treats, a greedy chocolate Labrador decided to lick the bowl.

The gooey cakey mixture was so irresistible to him that he moved onto the spoon. Unfortunately, in his gluttonous state, he devoured the metal implement swallowing it along with the mixture.

Noticing the missing spoon, and that her Labrador's pleasure had clearly turned into pain, Mrs Policyholder took the distressed mutt to the vet, who located the spoon in several pieces in an x-ray.

An operation, paid for by Mrs Policyholder's pet insurance, was later carried out to remove the foreign bodies. Strangely the animal lost its sweet tooth soon after...
