Product recalls rise by 16%

The number of product recalls in the UK has shot up 16% over the last year according to research by Reynolds Porter Chamberlain, the City law firm.

There were 166 recorded product recalls in the year to October 2005 compared with 143 the year before. The biggest increase has come from the pharmaceutical sector with a 250% rise in recalls and
