Argo Q1 net income falls on investment losses

Argo said that first quarter net income fell to $27m from $36.9m this time last year, thanks to realized and unrealized losses on its investment portfolio.

The losses on Argo's investment portfolio were $11.8m, down from a gain of $1.3m in the first three months of 2008. Underwriting-wise, however, things were healthier, with net earned premiums
