Swiftcover calls for more transparent repair costs

Managing relationships between insurers, contractors and suppliers was the main focus of last week's Claims Club, with industry representatives discussing the rise of windscreen repairs and the insurers' response to the latest floods. There was also an appeal to the media from the British Damage Management Association to communicate with the public on how the issues are being dealt with - and especially on the time it will take to repair the damage. Olivier C Laurent reports

An increase in windscreen repairs has not led to lower claims costs, said a Swiftcover director who blamed the insurance industry for its inertness in tackling the problem.
