Lloyds Bank GI profit rises 1% to £372m

Lloyds Banking Group this morning reported that its profit before tax and fair value unwind from general insurance increased by 1 per cent to £372m in 2010.

It added this was due primarily to improved unemployment claims experience plus integration synergies after taking account of lower income resulting from ceasing to write new PPI business and freeze

FCA looking to address issues on claims definitions

Andrew Ruddle, the Financial Conduct Authority’s interim head of the department for insurance market analysis and policy, has said the regulator is looking at addressing issues about different claims definitions within insurance.
