Penny Black’s Social Diary: CII’s Paddington pitstop; Arch’s bunnies
Penny Black has been out and about again, notebook in one hand and canapé in the other, keeping a keen eye on the insurance industry’s more whimsical moments.
CII’s Paddington pitstop
A literary detour courtesy of Callum Beaton, president of the Chartered Insurance Institute, caught my eye this week.
Beaton took to LinkedIn when he was en-route to Wales for the Insurance Institute of Cardiff annual dinner to share that he couldn’t resist paying homage to Paddington Bear by taking a selfie with the statue of Michael Bond’s famous creation at the railway station that led to his name.
Penny always enjoys a cultural pitstop before a black-tie dinner but it did make me wonder whether marmalade sandwiches were on the menu at the Insurance Institute of Cardiff’s annual bash?
Penny’s Lunch Box
Back at Insurance Post Towers, the Easter spirit arrived early thanks to Arch Insurance.
Forget eggs, chocolate bunnies from Arch were the order of the day.
Penny was delighted, even if the experience was soundtracked internally by Chas & Dave singing “Rabbit” (which reflects my ancient age).
Ears were bitten off, morale was boosted, and for innovation in seasonal snacking, it’s a full five stars for Arch.
