How to make the most of industry conferences

Heather Lambert, group sales director of Claims Consortium Group, shares her advice on how to ensure conferences aren’t just an overwhelming rush of presentations, visiting stands and networking in the latest Insurance Post Top Tips video.

In her Insurance Post ‘Top Tips’ video, Lambert recommends that insurers:

  • Plan their time wisely.
  • Approach stands, speakers and delegates.
  • Follow up.

Speaking at this year’s British Insurance Brokers’ Association Conference in Manchester, Lambert said: “I recommend looking on the App or at the list of attendees and deciding who you want to meet on the day and make sure you get to meet them.

“Spend your time wisely. If you want to meet somebody and you are not sure who they are, or are a little bit apprehensive, then just get one of your contacts to introduce them. That is always a nice ice breaker.

Over the coming weeks Insurance Post’s Top Tips videos will feature the industry’s leading lights sharing simple but effective ideas that could take your insurance business and career to the next level.
