Thanks to the removal of the default retirement age in 2011, more people are choosing to work for longer. Andy Miller, technical risk control manager at Allianz, believes whether they stay on because they enjoy it or because they need to top up their retirement savings, it’s creating a new dynamic in the workplace.

Around 10.4 million people aged 50 plus are in the UK workforce – an increase of 2.4 million over the last decade. In addition, those aged 65 plus have seen the biggest increase, with this age group
