Thistle Insurance Services chief operating officer Anita Watson has been appointed to the newly created role of operational performance director at Bluefin.

The position within Bluefin’s operations team will report into Graeme Lalley, group IT and operations director.

Prior to her time at JLT-owned Thistle, Watson held a number of senior roles across the industry, including at Oval and Zurich.

At Bluefin she will be focusing on trading processes and client and service propositions across the group. Watson will also work closely with the broker’s divisional leaders to support business performance through process optimisation.

Watson said: “It’s great to be joining a company that is clear on what it wants to achieve and is completely focused on its clients. Bluefin has a great standing in the market and I’m really looking forward to working with the rest of the senior management team.”

Lalley added: “Appointing people of Anita’s calibre is an important part of our strategy. Having held several senior positions in the insurance sector, Anita possesses the knowledge and the gravitas to help drive our business forward.”
