Penny Black's Insurance Week - 14 May

penny-black

They claim children say the funniest things, and Penny saw an example of this at the recent Association of British Insurers' seminar on cyber security.

Marsh's UK and Ireland CEO Mark Weil was on keynote duty and issued a call for insurers to do more to persuade customers they can be of more use in the event of a cyber attack.

After delivering a stirring call to action for insurers to prove their worth, Weil remembered a recent incident at his home in the West Country. His eight-year-old son had overheard him talking on the phone to a colleague about the importance of cyber insurance, causing Weil Junior to ask at the first possible opportunity: "Dad, are we going to have to insure all the cider?"

It's good to know that the next generation are getting their priorities right early on, and we can assume that the cider supply is safe in the Weil household.
