Allianz
Stephen Albutt has been moved to the position of head of engineering regions at Allianz following the retirement of Phil Godwin. Albutt spent four years with Allianz’s global corporate and speciality team, where he was an account director and responsible for developing the firm’s relationship with Willis and JLT. Aspen
Aspen Reinsurance has hired Andrew Parker as head of its Australian branch and Paul Wedlock as senior underwriter for the Asia-Pacific region. Parker has joined from Hannover Re, which he joined in 2006. He was most recently head of the company’s Australian branch. Wedlock moves from Swiss Re, where he spent 15 years.

Beazley
Beazley has appointed Will Roscoe to head the company’s broker relations activity in the London and European markets. Roscoe brings extensive experience both as a broker and underwriter. He joined Beazley’s London-based open market property team as an underwriter in 2011 before moving to his most recent role leading the excess and surplus lines property and high value homeowners teams in the southeast region of the US. Prior to Beazley, he was director of broking for the
global markets international division of Willis, where he led a team placing a portfolio of large non-US international risks in the London market.

Brit
Stephen Brooking and Tom Kennedy have joined Brit’s professional lines division as part of a plan to expand its global healthcare reach. The pair both join from Barbican.

Covéa
Covéa Insurance has made two new regional underwriting appointments to expand commercial underwriting capacity at its Chelmsford regional office. Sarah Manby joins as regional underwriter and Rebecca Chinnery as assistant underwriter. Chinnery joins from Amlin, while Manby was previously at Towergate Underwriting. RSA
RSA has promoted Steve Hedge to delegated business director. Hedge has been with RSA for 11 years in a number of roles, including head of UK financial planning and analysis and finance director for commercial SME.

Cunningham Lindsey

MGAs

Dual
Dual has appointed managing director Heiner Eickhoff as chairman. Eickhoff founded Dual Deutschland in 2005 as a provider of financial lines products before diversifying into other lines. Manuel Wirtz and Annett Marschollek have been appointed as joint heads of Dual Deutschland to replace Eickhoff. Wirtz, who came through the company leadership programme and has been with Dual for eight years, will take the general management role including responsibility for underwriting. Marschollek joined Dual from Zurich in 2011 as head of claims. She was also responsible for human resources including talent management.


Consolidators

Global Risk Partners
Former Towergate chief executive Andy Homer is to join forces with Towergate founder Peter Cullum at London market consolidator Global Risk Partners. His appointment follows the hire of Bluefin CEO Mike Bruce as GRP’s CEO of retail insurance broking as the firm gears up for further acquisitions to build the broker distribution network for its existing businesses.

BLM
BLM has appointed new partner Fintan Canavan to its team in Northern Ireland. Fintan, who specialises in abuse claims, trained at Robin Thompson & Partners. He became partner at Edwards & Co after relocating to Northern Ireland in 1997, and latterly Jones & Co. where he was involved in high profile cases such as the Bloody Sunday Inquiry and the Inquiry into Hyponatraemia-related deaths.
