Generali Group brings management together to optimise strategy

The Assicurazioni Generali Group Management Committee has held its first meeting in Trieste, Italy.

Chaired by group chief executive officer Giovanni Perissinotto, the committee's role is to guarantee closely integrated management of Generali Group's operations by optimising its synergies and analysing market trends in the countries where the group operates.

At its first meeting, the committee focused in particular on market trends in
the main countries where the group operates and its strategic positioning.

Other members of the committee are the managing director, Sergio Balbinot, the general manager and chief financial officer, Raffaele Agrusti, the head of international operations and reinsurance, Valter Trevisani, the head of group human resources and organization, Attilio Invernizzi, and the chief investment officer, Philippe Setbon.

The committee also includes the country managers in the main countries where the group operates: Paolo Vagnone, Italy; Dietmar Meister ,Germany; Claude Tendil ,France; Ladislav Bartonicek, Eastern Europe; and Sergio Di Caro, Asia.

Friday's meeting was also attended by the CEO of Generali Immobiliare, Giancarlo Scotti, and the group IT manager, Massimo Paltrinieri.

The Generali Group has total premium income of more than €73bn (2010), 85 000 employees worldwide and 70 million clients in 68 countries. Its parent company Assicurazioni Generali is listed on the Milan Stock Exchange.
