Making an acquisition is never easy. There are due diligence reviews to be done to ensure a potential target business works in terms of overall strategy, and that there are no hidden surprises, while the most successful deals are founded on sound strategic rationale, careful evaluation of a target against the strategic criteria, strong execution of the deal with close attention paid to the identification and resolution of the integration challenges.
So the last thing an acquisitor needs is for shareholders to lose faith in the firm and its value to drop – which is what happened to Quindell last week when its share price halved in value, dropping
