2 December: Cut and shut

2-dec

Dealing with stolen motor vehicles is nothing new for insurers, so when Mr Policyholder phoned to report the theft of his classic motor vehicle, his insurer began the usual process.

However, all was not as it seemed in more ways than one.

Sometime later, Mr Policyholder called to confess that he had not been the victim of callous motor thieves; in fact he knew exactly where his car was. It was buried in his back garden.

So why the sudden need to confess - the claim had been paid and, as far as the insurer was concerned, the matter was closed?

Well, it appears Mr Policyholder had plans for the insurance payout received for his beloved car. It was earmarked to pay for his gender reassignment operation. However, once the hormone treatment had kicked-in, Mr Policyholder had an attack of conscience and felt compelled to call his insurer and confess all.
