1 December: Taking the piste

1-dec

An estimated 10 million people visit The Principality of Andorra each year, drawn by the winter sports, summer climate and duty-free goods.

One of whom was Mr Policyholder. Having worked hard all year, he dreamed of lying on the golden sands, unwinding, relaxing, reading books, sampling crisp rose wine al fresco, and perhaps even embarking on the occasional walk along the beach with the sea lapping around his ankles.

Imagine his disappointment when, following the flight, Mr Policyholder was driven to his final destination - one of Andorra's premier ski resorts. Winter sports were not on his list of things to do, besides his sunglasses would hardly do the job of skiing goggles.

Cue a call to his insurance company, a claim for curtailment, and the start of the latest mis-selling scandal. Mr Policyholder blamed his travel agent for mis-leading him over the entire affair.
