US Congress passes financial reforms

On Friday, after a marathon 20-hour debate, the US Congress passed an amended version of the Dodd-Frank Bill which includes measures to prevent more AIG-style bailouts and a federal insurance regulator.

The bill calls for a new government "orderly liquidation" process for financial firms on the verge of collapse.

FCA looking to address issues on claims definitions

Andrew Ruddle, the Financial Conduct Authority’s interim head of the department for insurance market analysis and policy, has said the regulator is looking at addressing issues about different claims definitions within insurance.
