Half-year underwriting loss a first for Lloyd's
Lloyd's has recorded its first ever interim underwriting loss since it started publishing half-year results in 2005.
Despite the setback, the market remained profitable due to its conservative investment strategy and prior year reserve releases.
For the first six months of 2010 Lloyd's saw its profit before tax
