UK still long-term hotspot for shipping incidents

The British Isles, North Sea, English Channel and Bay of Biscay region is the area that has seen the most shipping casualties since 2006, according to Allianz Global Corporate and Specialty, despite total losses in the British Isles being down year-on-year in 2015.

AGCS's fourth annual Safety and Shipping Review 2016, which analyses reported shipping losses over 100 gross tonnes, showed shipping losses continued their long-term downward trend with 85 total
