Insurers should expect to pay damages to their clients when they are slow to pay claims, according to the Association of Insurance and Risk Managers.

In a response to a Law Commission consultation paper in March on the subject, the association's submission argues that the law as it currently stands discourages reasonable behaviour by insurers since
