Monday

Claire Thompson

It’s a 5.30am wake up to attend a morning CrossFit Class, priorities though – I need to eat first.

Home by 6.45am, shower and ready to make sure my daughter is up and ready on time for school.

My husband has walked the dog this morning so I can get on with my day.

Drop my daughter at school on my way to the Doncaster office, a 45-minute drive up the M1.

I love Mondays in the office as it’s our team day and we take it in turns to buy coffees. Always love a catch-up with my colleagues.

I feel this is so important for my mental health, especially with hybrid working, and it’s always great to see everyone. Mid-morning I have my one-to-ones with my team leader Lauren.

I am due to start a new role soon as a full-time account executive rather than hybrid.

Lauren is keen to ensure standards remain high across the department and wants to catch-up to ensure I am happy, find out where I am with my current book of business and ensure the transition is seamless.

Back to my desk until lunch catching up with emails, calls and obtaining terms for pending client renewals.

After lunch it’s off to a new business appointment with one of our directors who has another client in a similar trade so thought if would be helpful to have his input.

Teamwork is so important and means that we can deliver a superb offering to our clients.

Another early start, but this morning I am dog walking. I like to take him a good few miles first thing to let off some steam, otherwise there is always the potential that I will get a tennis ball dropped on my lap mid teams call.

After this I take my daughter to school and then it’s back to my home office to start my working day.

I always start by catching up on emails and making a to-do list to ensure that my pending renewals are prioritised along with any urgent tasks.

A query has come in from our claims team leader Sarah, she wants to speak with me about a coverage query.

We go through some policy wordings together to ensure that we both agree which policy the claim is covered by and why.

Once all my urgent tasks are done, I focus on doing an hour CPD, I almost have my 35 hours recorded and need to ensure this is complete for the end of the month.

Lunchtime and I nip over to the gym for a quick lunchtime workout then back home for a few hours admin before networking this evening.

After the daily dog walk it’s a quick shower and change ready for breakfast networking.

I met some great prospects this morning and a few people are interested in coming along to a netwalking group that I have organised. It’s always great to meet new contacts.

After networking I head over to the office in Doncaster and do a few emails before lunch.

This afternoon we had an insurer come in to provide some training and to discuss their risk appetite and areas where they feel they are competitive at the moment.

Insurer relationships are so important to ensure that we receive good outcomes for our clients. After this a few more hours back at my desk before I pick my daughter up to take her to gymnastics and l head out to my Crossfit class.

Funny horse

After the usual morning routine I have a client appointment first thing. Their renewal is due and I am reviewing their sums insured, coverage and finding out if there are any changes within the business that we need to be aware of.

After this its back to my home office to type up my notes and get them over to the handler to obtain terms. After lunch I have a teams call with one of my clients who wants to discuss their expansion plans into the US.

Mid-afternoon I am back catching up on my admin before taking my daughter over to the stables to spend some time with her loan pony.

Friday

Back to the early morning Crossfit class before the morning routine and then heading over to Ashover for a netwalking event that I have arranged.

Sticky Note on monitor with meeting reminder on

It’s a great morning meeting new contacts and developing relationships. After lunch, back home to catch up on my admin before a call with the wider group on the Female and Business Alliance that I am part of.

Clear are passionate about helpings its employees to develop and I am part of the team that is working to help more females achieve their ambitions.

We meet frequently to discuss ideas and ways of implementation to achieve our desired outcome.

After this it’s a few more hours of admin before logging off time, very much looking forward to my weekend.
