Ardonagh to buy Besso and Ed owner BGC's insurance business

Ardonagh has agreed to purchase BGC Partners’ insurance operations, including Besso and Ed.

Ardonagh expects to pay a cash consideration of $500m (£353m) for the group’s insurance arm, which it intends to house in its specialty segment.

The move will see the group acquire 100% of Besso and
