Ageas
Rob Clark has joined Ageas to take up the role of niche schemes underwriting manager for personal motor, which includes classic and motorcycle. Clark joins from ERS where he was head of bespoke motor. He has worked for more than 15 years in the insurance sector.

Allianz
Steve Kelly has joined Allianz engineering as senior technical manager, after moving from RSA. In his new role, Kelly will be responsible for delivering profitable growth by overseeing the development of Allianz’s engineering propositions as well as supporting the continued growth of underwriting and pricing capabilities. Kelly, who worked at RSA for 25 years, most recently held the position of construction, engineering and renewable energy director. In his time at RSA, he was involved in the creation of the renewable energy division.

Hastings Direct
Hastings Direct has hired Matthew Stevens as customer claims director, where he will report directly to managing director of insurer services Michael Lee. Stevens has spent the past seven years at Bupa Global, where he held the roles of claims management and head of customer services.

RSA
Calvin Gray has been promoted to the newly created role of marine sales and broker manager for the London Market and Europe. He will be responsible for driving sales and broker management activity across London and Europe, supporting RSA’s most important broker and customer relationships. Gray has been with RSA since 2013 and has previously worked at AIG, Chartis and Aviva. RSA has also promoted Ralph Daals to the role of group chief auditor. Daals joined RSA in early 2014 and was most recently chief auditor for the UK and Western Europe. Prior to that he managed Deloitte UK’s internal audit services to the insurance industry. TIFG
Specialist full lifecycle travel insurance provider Travel Insurance Facilities Group has appointed Steve Scott as its new head of business development. Scott will report to TIFG managing director Richard Smith, and will be responsible for the firm’s growth strategy within the travel insurance sector. He has more than 10 years’ experience in business development and joins TIFG from Collinson Insurance Group where he held the position of wholesale sales and strategy director. Brokers

Bluefin
Martin Wicks, regional managing director for Bluefin’s corporate division, has been appointed chairman of international broker network Wing, following an election by the Wing board. His tenure will last three years. Wicks has been involved with Wing for eight years, having been vice-chairman for the last four years.

JLT Re
Chris Bennett has joined JLT Re as a partner in the London and international market division, where he will support the firm’s cyber reinsurance capabilities. Most recently he was head of the UK treaty divisions and retro at Cooper Gay, and prior to that he was a director of Arthur J Gallagher UK.


Legal

DAC Beachcroft
Craig Dickson has been appointed CEO of DAC Beachcroft’s claims solutions group, replacing Bill Paton who resigned in November 2014. Dickson was previously the division’s motor head.

IFED
LV has funded claims crime prevention team technical controller Matt Crabtree to undertake a six-month secondment to the Insurance Fraud Enforcement
Department. Crabtree’s secondment will start in May and will run for six months.

Price of tower block insurance finally slashed

Insurance premiums for leaseholders waiting for combustible material to be removed from their blocks of flats could plummet by up to two thirds following the launch of the Association of British Insurers’ Fire Safety Reinsurance Scheme today (13 March), according to Axa.
