Fraudulent insurance claims buck trend in overall rise
Reported cases of false insurance claims were down by more than 26% last year, despite general levels of fraud in 2011 rising by almost 9% on the previous year.
According to CIFAS - the UK's fraud prevention service - more than 236 500 frauds were identified last year, the highest number of frauds ever recorded by CIFAS members and more than 120 000
