HSBC’s mooted plan to sell its general insurance arm is part of a growing trend of banks “retrenching”, according to an analyst.
Anil Stocker, bank analyst and co-founder and director of Market Invoice, a firm that channels non-bank capital to SMEs to fund working capital, said lenders were now focusing on their core businesses
