1. MUNICH RE

German giant Munich Re has bucked the trend of past years and held on to its crown as Reinsurance's top reinsurer of 2006.

In 2006, Munich Re made profits of more than EUR3.5bn ($4.55bn)

ABI insists fire safety scheme is temporary
