BP Marsh buys 20% of Asia Reinsurance Brokers

Investment firm BP Marsh & Partners has acquired a 20% stake in Singapore-headquartered Asia Reinsurance Brokers for S$2.4m (£1.2m).

BP Marsh has an option to increase its stake to 25% for an additional consideration of S$500,000 depending on the financial year performance ending 31 December 2017.

ABI insists fire safety scheme is temporary

Mervyn Skeet, the Association of British Insurers’ director of general insurance, has outlined how the trade body will ensure the Fire Safety Reinsurance Scheme will only last three to five years, and how it will should end criticism of brokers earning commission for arranging cover.
