Munich Re's profits fell 3% in 2014

Reinsurance giant Munch Re's chief financial officer heralds 'robust earnings strength' despite a fall in profits for 2014 and a drop in property and casualty volume at renewals.

Munich Re's profit was €3.2bn (£2.4bn) in 2014 down from €3.3bn in 2013.

According to provisional calculations, in Q4 2014 the reinsurer posted a profit of €0.7bn compared to €1.2bn in Q4 2013.
