XL estimates cat losses of up to $120m

Insurer XL has estimated its catastrophe losses for Q3 at between $90m (£57.2m) and $120m.

The potential losses stem from Hurricane Irene, Tropical Storm Lee, the September Texas Wildfires and the Danish floods in July.

The estimates are pre-tax and net of reinsurance and reinstatement
