US tornadoes cost Hiscox £35m

Hiscox has estimated net claims arising from the April and May tornadoes in the US to be approximately £35m based on insured market losses of $15bn-$25bn.

Estimates for other 2011 catastrophes, announced last month, are unchanged. The firm said it has reserved at the upper end of its modelled range - between $60m and $150m - due to considerable ongoing
