Dai-ichi Life plans $11.7bn IPO

Dai-ichi Life aims to raise about Y1,070bn ($11.7bn) when it lists in Tokyo on April 1, in what would potentially be the largest initial public offering since Visa’s $19.7bn listing in 2008.

The listing of Dai-ichi comes after two years of subdued activity in Japanese stock markets when the number of IPOs dwindled to 49 in 2008 and fell to just 20 during the whole of last year, according
