Rumours of Solvency II M&A greatly exaggerated

Solvency II will not result in market consolidation, at least not in the near term, according to Ovum's senior analyst for insurance technology.

Reflecting on the firm's latest research, Charles Juniper commented: "We do not see Solvency II driving mergers and acquisitions activity, despite lots of talk about it all ending in a big M&A fest.

"
