Axis profits fall 23% in 2016
Global (re)insurer Axis's after-tax profits fell 23% in 2016 to $465m (£367m) from $602m the previous year.
Axis's reinsurance underwriting reinsurance profits declined from $261m in 2015 to $242m in 2016 as the group was hit by earthquakes in Ecuador, Japan and New Zealand and weather events such as
