Loss adjusting giant Crawford is looking to grow its construction and engineering presence through acquisition, with Lancashire-based Buckley Scott hotly tipped as a target.

A deal would mark the end of lengthy speculation as to the future of the adjuster, with Buckley Scott chief executive Jeremy Buckley denying that a sale was being weighed as long ago as November 2011
