Barbican turn-key approved by FSA

David Reeves

Whittington will retain a shareholding in its turn-key operation Barbican after the latter was granted conditional approval from Lloyd's and the Financial Services Authority to form its own managing agency.

From 1 January 2011, the agency will manage Lloyd's Syndicate 1955, which began underwriting a range of property, casualty and marine insurance and reinsurance classes three years ago.
