Katla eruption threat
Experts from the newly formed UCL Institute for Risk & Disaster Reduction have warned that with the high frequency of eruptions of Icelandic volcano Katla, an eruption in the short-term is a strong possibility.
The volcano is the larger neighbour of Eyjafjallajökull, which made headlines for grounding air flights.
In a new report the authors add, however, that an eruption of Katla is likely to be preceded by
