Montpelier Re writes 23% less in “transitional” 2006
Bermudian reinsurer Montpelier Re has reported comprehensive income for the year ended December 31, 2006 of $362m on a combined ratio of 60%.
The firm wrote $578.6m in net premiums, down 23% on a year earlier, and earned $583.1m net, down 31% following its exit from certain lines of business in the aftermath of the 2005 Cat losses.
