Manchester police step up fight against uninsured driving
Greater Manchester Police seized a total of 103 vehicles which were either uninsured, untaxed, or driven without a valid licence last week. The crackdown is the latest move in the force's automatic number plate recognition exercise.
Some 150 fixed penalty tickets were also issued for a variety of moving traffic offences, the majority of which were for drivers and passengers not wearing their seatbelts. Six people were arrested.
